I do not think God exists.
While I do find the human body and the universe wondrous strangely perfect and orchestrated, what I also find is a world filled with terror and hardship and so much overwhelming suffering. I am not a cynic, at least I try not to think of myself as one. I do try to play my part in alleviating suffering. But, I do constantly wonder why someone would design something so perfect--not the human body, but just life in general--yet let it go so unhandled. I look at how humans have mutated from symbiotic organisms, like the people of the fertile crescent or Native Americans that worshiped and loved the Earth so much and lived in harmony with it, into shameful beings that terrorize and take for granted something so special as the planet. I look outside and see highways and cars and miserable people who live by illusions and are tempted by money and status and so many other terrible things. I read books like Catch-22 that illustrate not only our infinite capacity for love and for humanity, but also our severe imperfectness and poisoned mind.
While I do not believe in a God of-sorts or a religion/faith, I do believe in a human's goodness and I try to live it out daily. I don't think religion is the only way to fulfillment.

Scratch that, marriage? Don't need that.
Absolutely made my day though, to know i'm not the only one who views the world like this? It's depressing really, the way society lives now is so set to the perfect that conflict arises from this strive, and it's not only us, it's the manifestations in the mind that makes this longing, or makes emotions, makes feelings that set down everyone, sets them down to a standard in which we hold ourselves, it's preposterous.ewlol wrote:I look outside and see highways and cars and miserable people who live by illusions and are tempted by money and status and so many other terrible things. Although, a human's goodness is always another humans flaw, always another persons hatred or opposite. I don't see a point in being good or bad, which is something a lot of people must think, because they honestly don't give two shits if they're a miserable puppet, or that they have kids, die, and the kids have kids, and die, and creates this cycle where no one will step out to be good, or bad. Either ones good, because at least you're doing something. Religion just creates a reward for someone for being good, it doesn't assess the fact that bad is actually..well..good, talk about Paradox (Interactive! SeewhatIdidthere?) When you balance a society to do-gooders they always turn into someone set in line, not changing.

What a retarded idea for a discussion topic.
No matter what you believe there's absolutely no way to prove anything.
So to answer your question, maybe.
