I've always liked building a brick wall section directly in front of the cave entrance if I don't want anyone accessing it and I don't need it.
The other question: water doesn't exist down there, only on L1 underground.
Thank you for the helpful answers.
Follow-up queery:
Has anyone found high q water on L1 underground? I want to know if I should waste the energy building a boat to sample the water.
I've found better than q10, yes. I wouldn't call it "high quality" though. I also understand that there can be a rare fish node underground, but not sure what all can be caught there.

Can you feed an Auroch a clover to prevent it from attacking you when you pull it's hair?
The wiki doesn't say that you can't, but it also doesn't say that you can.
Scooby Doo taught us that the real monsters are humans.

You can't.
Clovers only allow you to take milk from a wild Auroch.

Once natural land squares have turned to grass,
is there anyway of turning that land square back to it's natural terrain?
To some extent. Grass can be stomped to dirt. Grass can be plowed and eventually get moor. Moor can become heath. Plant a tree and it will slowly change grass to forest floor. That's about it I can think of.
Thanks for the info, i think i have to grow some more trees in the area, want to expand my tree farm, I plowed the grass but it just comes back as grass again. Ill just plant trees everywhere, make a thick forest lol
It's a small (about 1% maybe) chance of grass types changing. Also, forest type is dependent on the tree grown. Any tree not on its native terrain will change several surrounding tiles when that tree reaches full maturity.

Just normal fish, so far
But my cave-fish node is a long walk away, and not of amazing quality, so I haven't done much fishing there.
Do you have to "touch" the Pclaim stake sign or can you do through palli or bw if close enough?
