To place a village claim, must I have descovered all the materials required to build it?

If I were to put a chick (not a grown chicken/cock) into a cupboard, would it starve to death? If so, how long does it take?
I intend to build a coop and fill it with a few chicks. Fodder Q is the only thing that will affect chicken Q, right?

It will starve, it takes 24 hours if I'm remembering correctly.TheOriginalFive wrote:If I were to put a chick (not a grown chicken/cock) into a cupboard, would it starve to death? If so, how long does it take?

A chick can never be raised quality. Every time an egg is laid, it's quality will be the average of it's parents ±5. However, when eating fodder, a chick/chicken/cock can have it's quality lowered if the fodder's quality is lower than that of said chicken (starving will also lower the quality). In other words, each new generation of chickens will gradually increase in quality until they reach the fodder quality, at which point they will be capped whenever they try to go over.

In that case, the Q of the chicken coop won't affect chicken Q at all, I presume?

Yeah, the coop's quality is irrelevant.TheOriginalFive wrote:In that case, the Q of the chicken coop won't affect chicken Q at all, I presume?

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
I've got a question about barter stands. I would like to setup a barter stand that sells curios and accepts cooked food as payment. I can put anything I want for sale but I'm having trouble setting prices.
For example I can selected blueberry pies as a price but not ring of brodgar or perched perch. It's not a discovery issue either because I've made some inferior versions of the food to be sure I had discovered it. The things I can set as prices seem to be pretty arbitrary. I can set brambles and poppies as a price, but not mantles or ladybugs.
I've tried searching the forums and will continue, but the majority of my search results are for AfO threads and barter stand ownership issues. My stand is mostly intended for village members to trade their specific goods with each other when they are online at different times.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

2 questions in one post:
If I keep a cupboard unclaimed inside a mine/cave, does it decay as it would outside of the mine/cave?
Is the Lucky Rabbits Foot a good curio?

No it doesn't decay inside caveFictionRyu wrote:2 questions in one post:

7200 at 360% - good LP/weight - but me and others just use it as Lucky charm in InventoryFictionRyu wrote:Why is the Lucky Rabbits foot (dried) not that good of a curio (2k base LP for 24 hours) when the name could infer that it's a good one?
