Thief Scents

Post by Winter »

Anyone find any thieves or worse yet? I'm kind of bored and all I see are a few trespassers XD

I saw some different-colored clues inside somebody's claim, but due to my worry posted on the announcements thread, I didn't investigate. =P

Trespassers are more fun, they don't expect you to hunt them down and kill them as much. :) Seriously, though, the lack of thieves should be considered a good thing.

See my bug report if you want a proof that thief scents 'work' in the sence they are made... and that you can track the person down.
Oh i tried that whole 'summon via hearth' when their not logged in, and it summons them, puts you in combat mode, and they stay stationary like that, until you 'enter a building/area' and cancel combat, then they magically dissapear.

And if you kill them, they land on their Hearthfire, so no looting the body. You can kill them, but not reclaim your stuff.

Doesn't perma death erase the hearth fire/claims yet?

At the least it should turn the hearth fire into a regular fire

Meh.
There is a "secret hideout" with a load of hearthfires pretty far north of Brogdor. At least one of them has been stealing from my site, destroying half-built houses, and walling off hearth fires with normal fires. Im pretty sure its more than just one, from the scale of the damage they are doing.
If anyone is curious about it and wants to help me get to the bottom of it, let me know. I have a dozen crime markers all over my claim. Unfortunantly, production has pretty well ceased at the moment, so i cant really pay anything. Ill take care of them eventually by myself anyway.

All it takes is a line of drying racks...
You should assume that they have or will read your post and will relocate now

If they relocate away from myplace, all well and good. Otherwise Ill just track them back to their new place and repeat.
need to get my tradition all the way up...
I think theres a good chance they will stay, they have a mine and a lot of fields. If they leave me alone Ill leave them alone as well.

Excuse me Niltrias, this "secret hideout" is my place, i dont know who did the stealing on your land, but it sure as hell have nothing to do with my farm. I come back now to find my whole village broken, road in pieces, runestones with un-mature jibberish on. I dont know who did all this to you but dont spoil my place just because you think thats the one who lives there...

edit: Plus there is a fucking dead body in my camp!
