Re: Past Worlds
Unfortunately I wasn't around in this mystically amazing 3rd world you speak of. I don't believe I was in the fourth one either.

Oh, speaking of world 1 and Pumpkin:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1596&hilit=I+declar ... f+overlord
He really was untouchable back then, because with the old combat system one titan could kill as many inferior warriors as he needed to. Only a handful of players could compete with him (Blaze, Rift and maybe some others. Delamore certainly not, but he had built up a public image that made him look like he could).
I was only a newbie back then and remember that on every trip we took through the hearthlands it was almways our foremost concern not to stumble into Pumpkins kingdom and get eaten alive
World 1 was so awesome...
It is funny he wanted to do that in world 2 as well. I always tried to find him and kick his ass. Xybb and I even wandered into his town one night only dressed in leather with a parade of animals following us. Neither he nor Rift dared to show up.

Re: Past Worlds
One of the most interesting thing to note about the comparison between each world is the interaction difference between individuals compared to other worlds. You're truest allies in this world be your greatest adversary the next or the worst individual you met could be the most loyal friend. Of course it is not always the case as some alliances are persistent across worlds as well.
Not only do interaction change, some individual change as well especially after a large event occurring in their hearthling gaming career or simply becoming more experienced which gives then more option on what they wish to do in this game. They my become more righteous, more confident, more prone to react with arms, more charismatic, or just plain stronger in skill. Regardless though, there still exist a "core" reason of what they wish to do (which may also change over time) where many of their action revolve around. Do they want to be a leader, a raider, a hermit, or a paladin? Seeing the growth of some individuals to their current path is pretty interesting especially when interacting with individuals in the past and seeing the difference of results.
Slightly Offtopic: There was one moment when Burgingham recruited a lot of individuals in Haven and Hearth from different groups, myself included, to play Wakfu. We had quite a lot of different Haven factions as well as individuals playing together: Burgingham, Avu, Sarchi, Ewlol, Gato, Painhertz, LadyGoo, Valten, Grog, Ken Tower, Miuka, Sarge, Hrabri, many of these people in opposite sides of conflict in the current or past Haven political battlefield.

This is one of the topics I read when I joined: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=27534 I thought it was amusing.

Re: Past Worlds
Who? Blaze, Rift, Pumpkin etc? I don't think any of them actually played W3 except Rift peeking in every once in a while.
@Wakfu story...well that experiment was by and large successful, but some things there fell apart again rather quick. Like Painhertz or LadyGoo being part of that group ^^
The rest of that group however is whom I have been playing games with ever since.
Edit: Reading that Pumpkin thread myself now again brought back a little of the mystery the game had back then. As a new player it really felt like this guy was an invincible overlord and that every step into his territory might be your last. We were so proud when our little group of four actually found a small forest nobody seemed to claim (one didn't use claims back then btw, one just made declarations like Pumpkin). We built a hunting hut there and killed bears as a team, because that was the only way to do it. One or two bears a day and man were we happy.
This whole feeling of everything being totally mysterious and the mysteries actually being real; that is gone and wouldn't come back even if the game got fixed. I miss the old stories. It is hard to pinpoint it, but they had something more special than what has been around the past three worlds or so. Bagouser here, walljumper there...we didn't even have any walls back then and we did just fine (I sound like some grandpa now, don't I?).
Sometimes I feel like the game was in a way better state design wise than it has been at any later point in time. Less is often more. Of course content additions are always fun, but the mechanics they introduced cannot really keep up with what they had back then.
Then again a whole lot of the mystery probably comes form being a newbie and trying to find out how the world turns. Nobody can give you that back.

Knowledge gained at the price of innocence.
I don't think there were much issues with Painhertz and LadyGoo back then aside that they departed early due to world 6.@Wakfu story...well that experiment was by and large successful, but some things there fell apart again rather quick. Like Painhertz or LadyGoo being part of that group ^^
