Hi all
random question about skills and skill levels...
for things like perception and exploration when is it enough??
Does this apply to other skills? (I can't seem to think of any!)
Thank you!

Edelweis you start seeing at 1600 and "you will start seeing forageables when your forage level is half of the forageable's base level and you will see all of a particular forageable when your forage level is double the base level", so more perc*explo than 6400 would be a waiste.

And here lots of info on this subject, roll down to "Skill Values":

Edit: Maybe reading sofcaps/hardcaps would be usefull too:

well Cranny posted while I was and said most of the same stuff, but I was also adding that perception decides minimum damage you do when using slings or bows, so even when you get your 6400 per*exp its still good to work on perception if you're a hunter.

Re: Skill levels...when is it enough??
It all depends on what your doing in the game.
now if your farming im going to go on a limb and say you can always improve on your farming skill. aswell as sewing and most other things.
Most of the time your not going to want to do multiple things on a character. A good starting point is making one alt for mining, one for cloth making, and one for farming (your main can be one of these aswell), and then later in the game make some for specific tasks such as silk. Reason being is that this allows you to spread out you Learning Points and allows you not to waste any time spending on eating dexterity for clothmaking when your a mining character.
I hope i helped!
yes the max you will ever need for per*exp is 6400 so i usually stop at around 50 exploration and that leaves you to get 128 perception. That will help emensly with hunting and give you a more stable damage output (since boar agility is around 150).Cranny wrote:Edelweis you start seeing at 1600 and "you will start seeing forageables when your forage level is half of the forageable's base level and you will see all of a particular forageable when your forage level is double the base level", so more perc*explo than 6400 would be a waiste.

The only case you would need >6,400 exp*per is when tracking scents.

and like i said. i usually go 50 exploration. the max i would ever go is 75 and thats really pushing it. perception does alot of the work.DDDsDD999 wrote:The only case you would need >6,400 exp*per is when tracking scents.

if you have access to cheese make Mothzarella. if you have access to sausage make Lamb Sausages and if you cant make Chicken Chorizo. and if can make neither i would boil high q eggs. and yes. thats alot of wasted points.dariun wrote:My explor is 105...is that overkill?? haha!![]()

if you need good perc only for foraging best thing you can do is buying monocle it's cheap and gives over 50 perc
