idk if its legit but i suggest playing games like

Dwarf Fortress (Free, Recommended, VERY good game engine and nice ACSII Graphics, but there are a shitload of tilesets and mods to tweak the game engine. this game is hard to learn but you will be addicted once you figure out how to play.

Gnomoria (a user friendly dwarf fortress clone, demo free game is currently at sale about 6 euro)

Towns ( you build a town. with people in it that wanna eat and shit, its in steam too but its expensive imo)

Don't Starve (as gnomoria it is available with steam, like its name you mustnt starve in a changing and random generated world, you can craft some things but its still in beta, updated around every week)

10.000.000 (A VERY addicting indie-rpg-platformer with 8bit sound)

UNTIL H&H is back...
i hope this happens sometime!

There are a ton of threads about these games already. In addition to this, a huge number of loyal Haveners are actually Dorf Forters in disguise. There's a reason that there's an item in the game called the B12 Axe. =)

Agreed, telling this community about Dwarf Fortress is pretty muc same same as posting this on the B12 forums. That being said maybe some poor, living under a rock bastard hadn't heard of it. lol

I don't want to play some crappy 3D game. I want a 2D iso H&H-style game.

me too that's why i play HnH ;)

I just wanted to give the questioner an answer as he seems not able to search for himself

and if i wanted a 3D i could have stayed with FPS modding ...
