What good would running their clients in VM's do?dra6o0n wrote:Probably likely that they are all hacker or script kiddies of the sort, to utilize proxies and VM for a lot of these alts.

It hasn't cracked 100 in a month dude.jordancoles wrote:The driving force that is currently keeping the core players playing is that we have everything setup right now and don't want to lose it, imo a world reset with no fixes would just kill this game and any remaining players. It would go from 160 players online to like, 40.
If you want to multi-client without getting caught and banned ip wise with a game. You combine both Proxies and ways to instance a OS.Oddity wrote:What good would running their clients in VM's do?dra6o0n wrote:Probably likely that they are all hacker or script kiddies of the sort, to utilize proxies and VM for a lot of these alts.
That would be Virtual Machines.
Using your main OS results in a ip address from that machine, that is a single and same ip for all clients that you open up.
Now if they utilize Virtual Machines, each as a different 'hardware' or system, then utilize proxies to change the ip of each one, they would trick the server as these 'players' would all have unique ip addresses.
So far, Loftar and Jorb didn't decide to limit the number of active accounts per ip, hence botting always runs rampant throughout the game's development, most prominent are the faction AD when it comes to mass botting and utilizing scripts and macros to manage their 'AI' army.

Ow. So much misinformation. I wish it were funny, but knowing that you believe that you know what you're talking about makes it depressing.dra6o0n wrote:If you want to multi-client without getting caught and banned ip wise with a game. I feel like there should be some kind of collective effort to help dra6o0n understand how ignorant he is.dagrimreefah wrote:LOL the bullshit is just exploding from this post in all directionsdra6o0n wrote:If you want to multi-client without getting caught and banned ip wise with a game. Re: A Letter To Jorbtar
Not everyone has technological aptitude in their repertoire of skills. I myself has some degree of aptitude and heard of VMs and IP but do not know how they go together. My parents run into problems simply by googling and they need a shortcut on the desktop to know how to use the firefox browser.
As for botting, it is virtually impossible to stop botting and though I suspect that the developers would like to, they want to first take care of the problem that makes the game lag before putting some new features in as a test bed in world 6. Of course I cannot speak for them but this is my prediction.
