Raid mussels man. Idk why, but whenever I found mussels while raiding they'd always give me a pearl. One time I found nothing in a base but 2 mussels and 1 of which gave me a pearl :p

God damn borka, it went like this: Was foraging, found q7 mussels on a shallow part of a lake, took them, boiled, got q7 pearl. It complies with both of your quotes.

i have 0 luck with mussels.

i can bring back 4 LCs of mussels and get MAYBE 1 pearl

Although, i've just boiled 61 mussels and DID get a pearl,

Surv 4 but enough Per*Expl for seing mussels is legendary

I had times when i boiled 4 cups of mussels with no pearl but also times when 1 had a small chest and got 4 mussels from it - it's just random

Ooooh. Let me tell you a SHORT story. I had a char, a noob battle one with 100ish melee, 50ish UA, 40ish MMS, 130ish strength, around 55 agi without plate armor, etc. I died. However, me and my friend were in the middle of preparing a forager char. (full LA, around 50 explo, bought him some nice gear which is q260 r-cape and 130 mono) and we didn't do survival yet because he wasn't even ready to forage, he'd need like 100 explo. When I died, I just asked around if I can move in to someone's place, and used my forager alt. Moved into Feaak's, found some mussels, q7 thought because of softcap, got pearl.

And my friend picked up his first 7 mussels recently and he found a pearl in one of them

My own best ratio is 3 pearls out of 25 mussels.
