Entry the Fourth

When I woke up this morning I was on the floor again. Only this time my bed wasn't stolen, just occupied by some bum who came in out of the rain. At least he didn't steal any of my food. Taking a stroll through the village I had to rub my eyes. Just how long was I asleep? It's a strange thing. I could have sworn that the death rate was too high to permit it, but it seems as though this 'town' is beginning to take roots. After seeing the new graveyard I was left with no doubt that there are now more people buried in Brodgar than living in it. Apparently we even have a designated 'corpse wagon'. Nevertheless Brodgar gets bigger by the day, such are the numbers of hopeful residents. Not only that. In amongst the filthy hovels and shacks have appeared more stable structures. Here, somebody baking bread in a new brick oven. There, somebody hammering out metal tools. Several of the villagers are wearing actual boots. It all seems almost, pleasant, apart from the smell of death wafting in the breeze. If I could just shake the constant feeling of overwhelming dread in the face of certain doom I might feel better about things.
