does that make sense?
Pretty nice classification. But i don't understand what's the goals of the last group?
Well I think maybe its easier for you to understand the goals of the first two categories, but the "goal" of the third could be almost anything at all. but it makes me happy to make my own decisions - is that enough of a goal?
i'm thinking now that some raiders maybe fit into the third category, since some people like fighting just for the rush rather than primarily for the domination aspect.

I like the ingame freedom. I like to help people out and grow my character/village to be able to help even more. And when I see bad people kill/raid innocent people (like the OP), I really like to teach them a lesson. It's the only way I find killing entertaining and I mostly am able to make a better and happier person of them.

please don't pretend that killing is a good way to teach people
I like to build stuff. Make monumental structures and such. Things that looks impressive and interesting to look at.
I played minecraft for a while but I didn't find it as appealing as haven. The single server aspect of it makes the game much better then as in minecraft with hundrads of servers and not a single good one. This game requires alot more paishense as well making every structure or object you build that more valued.
At the end of the day I rather have fun with the people around me and add more people into the fold. Raiding as a pure form to me is just the same as greafing and in my opinion only people with internal problems, as in the mental kind, living there rage out on others in a simulated world should play other games that is more suited for pvp.
The aspect of achieving a set goal and sharing it with others is very rewarding and if someone comes along and ruins it half way to your goal sours that fun. But at the same time the aspects of that risk of getting vandaled or stolen from if your not to careful is always a nice challenge as well. But when you put people into a game like haven where there entire goal is to plunder and raid it makes that challenge to big of a chore. Specially if its lopsided and only the raiders benefiting from that 10 min thrill before the village is inside out and getting that fix of knowing you just ruined someone elses hard work with a single act.
Territorial wars, resource controlling, theft, policing and such makes sense. But pure combat grinding, raiding and pillaging just for the sake of playing the game for dominating someone else makes me think if haven really was meant for that sort of play. There probably are plenty of other games like SC, CoD, LoL and other pvp specialized games for those people.
Wouldn't you rather battle it out with someone that have honed there skilled in a pvp game, in other words someone your own size, or rather log into haven and go bomb the shit out of a plot with little to no resistance. More then half of killings in this games happen due to summons, bugs, exploits and cheep tackticks.
Makes me think if these greafers took a wrong turn and somehow ended up in haven instead of heading of to a actual pvp based game where they can actually do some proper pvp with some form of challenge.
As for me, the only reason i'm playing h&h is the core of Dis. We play other games together, or work over game development projects (early Origin development, current Kerrigan's server), or just casual talks about everything and nothing. Oh yeah, I also like the idea that I can start global projects, since all heil Dis empire!

I play because I like to have an area, and for that to be mine. I like to develop and build.
I play HnH because I like the raw brutality of the game. I like permadeath, even though it sucks. I play HnH because it's the first game I've seen where ingame actions actually have long lasting consequences.
The only other game I've played that is anything like HnH is wurm online. I enjoyed that for the same reason, but it really pissed me off that when I killed someone ingame, they just got another sword and some more amour and were back the next day.
Also having a community and people to talk to is nice. People irl annoy me and I can only stand them to a point.

That's not exacty what I meant there. I don't always kill people, only when they kill someone else or grief alot. I mostly ko people and have a good talk with them.
Btw, sorry for my way of describing some things. English isn't my native language and it can be hard for me

stay on Topic! Just state why you play HnH - everything that doesn't suit makes the whole post go to Hel!
