What are the required skills?

Or can you just up and craft it when you have 8 string?

It'll show up as soon as you discover a single string. Probably need cloth making as I don't have it in my menu yet.

EDIT: Nope not cloth making. It's plant lore. Just tested.

You don't need cloth making. I just picked up some taproot and it appeared in my curios menu. You need to have plant lore as well.
