Privately, we consider step one of the new Haven to lie in the construction of a walking-in-nature simulator, more or less good enough to be enjoyed on such merits alone.
We can tell you have a passion for nature, it shows in all the little details of the world. And the first time I went to a viking museum, after I'd been playing H&H for a year, I recognized loads of things from the game. There's a lot of research gone into H&H.

I've always like nature as well, I've done a fair bit of birdwatching, but it's fair to say H&H is partially responsible for me getting into conservation volunteering and actually cutting down trees and doing outdoor things in general. Not quite as hardcore as that forum member who went and did actual wilderness survival stuff, but there we go.

Birds are rather lacking from H&H, aren't they.

trying to understand the resource thing...so no more soil, clay and so forth "Spots"...its all just capped by your survival, or are ya saying until you have level 70 survival you wont "see" the 70 resource spot? Or resources "Become lvl 70 when your survival is lvl 70"? Could we clarify? (She says as she began alting around looking for decent soil.

Resource nodes are still there, but the resource you extract is hardcapped by survival.

The resources are hardcapped by survival.

Example:
You find a q56 clay node.
With 10 surv, you'll only get q10 clay out of this node.
Say you dig with 42 surv, you'll get q42.
You dig with 56+ surv, you'll get q56
Hope you have a great day

You will only know/be able to extract to quality level of your survival. Even if it's a Qual 100 node you'll only get Qual 10 resources if you never raise survival.

that's what i was saying, looking for a niode is pointless unless you have your survival at high level, as even if you came across one you would not know it. correct? So it cuts out the early searches for resource spots as it use to be done?

Yes that's the idea.

For clay spots you should still be able to estimate the Quality of the node by checking how big the area it covers is, though.
