Artificial limitations to an UI are not the way to immerse me in survival, it just irritates me.borka wrote:When playing HnH the first time and using the default it gives you a very good view on the intentions of this game: survival - it's not unplayable it's just more comfortable with custom clients...
Isn't that more just a limitation of having a really rigid 2D engine and a problem with the custom clients? If there wasn't an option to remove trees it could be seen as fair - pay attention more like the rest. Rather now it's deemed as unfair because other people just blatantly remove the trees to spot the boar.jorb wrote:Indeed. The animal's should have hard stealth instead of relying on client side camo that can just be removed.
An inbetween solution would be to allow the camera to rotate at 90 degree angles, but I find that rather obnoxious and it requires you to draw sprites (I recall this point being raised in the way past actually!) and we can't have that.

Didn't even expect you to answer but this? jorb pls..jorb wrote:Indeed. The animal's should have hard stealth instead of relying on client side camo that can just be removed.pablet wrote:I mean I've died killed by a boar hidden behind a tree with classic client.
*Edit* I didn't intend to make a destructive post (maybe I failed). What I meant is it would be a lot funnier if we all had the same client, one harder than ender's but playable, were you can't disable night and darkness so we all have the same chances, but keeps good ideas like showing animals and herbs in your radar. If you say original client is playable, indeed but only if you want to play haven&hearth, the sims go hermit edition

Or horrible creatures that disguise themselves as, say, innocent rabbits. I know there are some currently, but these are rare.jorb wrote:Indeed. I genuinely think it's terrible that animals can be 100% avoided. I don't think that should be the case. The "mechanic" of them hiding behind trees would be fine if it could be enforced, but it can't.

I was thinking last night and came up with the idea that if you cap ua and attributes now combat is skill based, please implement.
People would make more alts to fight sothey care less about their char meaning more good fights like end of world 6.
