Cool, so just getting metal shouldn't be much of a hassle then. Last thing: What is a recommended strength and hitpoint value I should have before mining? I hear each rock that hits you in a cave in does 50, so would over 150 be a good start?Nummy wrote:At first level shouldn't be much of a problem, specially if you already have a pickaxe.Rejected_Logic wrote:So aside from prospecting and building a mine hole to go down, the way to find ore is to randomly dig at the walls of caves one tile at a time? Is finding ore very difficult?
If you are searching for a specific ore, then I strongly recommend prospecting.

as much as possible. yeah, 150 would be a good start, but with the new mining rules, nobody should get a cave in, ever. Basically only mine when you're standing on cave terrain, or when you're under the radius of a support.

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
How does the game calculate total punch dmg with Soldier's Gauntlets?
For example 40 str punch: 0.75 * 50 * sqrt(40/10) = 75
How much will it be with 10q gauntlets?
a. 0.75 * 50 * sqrt(40 / 10) + 10 = 75 + 10 = 85
b. 0.75 * 50 * sqrt(40 / 10) + 10 * sqrt(sqrt(40 * 10) / 10) = 75 + 14 = 89
c. 0.75 * (50 + 10) * sqrt(40 / 10) = 90
d. 0.75 * (50 * sqrt(40 / 10) + 10 * sqrt(sqrt(40 * 10) / 10)) = 85
e. some another weird formule?
Is there any reason to rise stealth to high amounts?
Scents around 200 along with high q ranger's set and high amounts of int can become really invisible to those who dont rise exploration/perception high enough.
Also do scent's charges depend on your exploration*perception against perp's stealth*intelligence? or they depend only on how long scents exist?
Is there any reason to aim for high q ranger's bows? pve/pvp?
100q ranger's bow for instance have 948 dmg, counting high q bone arrows and full martial, dmg may go 1200+ - oneshot for any animal, including bears with a bit of luck. As for pvp i think everything much worse: oneshot for low armored noobs or non-combat chars, but no dmg for any heavy armored pvp-char, even if i do max dmg.

RBow doesn't go through armor(though it should) so higher quality to take out the guys walking around in steel plate

formula for punch damageenglishman wrote:If this is known I would like to know the minimum stats to one punch a bear, Its my only goal
0.75 * 50 * sqrt(Strength / 10)
bears have 800 hp, and you'll also need enough UA to get through their defense bar

You'd need about 4500 STR.SuperNoob wrote:formula for punch damageenglishman wrote:If this is known I would like to know the minimum stats to one punch a bear, Its my only goal

People are capable of kindness angels can only dream of, yet can commit sins that put demons to shame.
