Yes they can. I had a fence right next to a pali last world and they still gave birth through both and ended up between my pali and brick wall. There must be some radius or space allotment code and new calf will appear where it can. So if your cows love to group together it may get displaced nearby.krikke93 wrote:I know cows can give birth outside walls. But what about a palisade AND a fence? Because our cow doesn't seem to be wanting to give birth. Or my biological clock is just bad.

use cellar stones...not sure why, but for some reason they don't give birth outside cellar stones(or maybe its just my luck)
also you have a gate on your fence, cows always try to escape when you open a gate(atleast mines always have) leaving a 1 tile openning in a fence and placing a chair there allows you to get in and out without your cows making a run for it.

People are capable of kindness angels can only dream of, yet can commit sins that put demons to shame.

Planting a very big area of grass outside your camp increases the likelyness that you will see tamable animals such as aurochsen and mouflons. Also, navigation is easier on grassland if you're not into paving big bases because you can run with very, very little stamina drain.deane wrote:no cows or any other animal atm. just drop for now/save highest Q seeds? or get some chickens? guess chickens might use seeds right?fanit937 wrote:Feed your cows, plant grass.deane wrote:what can I do with extra seeds from farming?

ah so the normal ground cover is NOT grass right? if so sounds like I'll be doing grass with all the q1 seeds I'm getting (just starting and highest seed is q5). also simple basic question. what the Bleep can i do about higher level players trespassing and murdering me? they literally came INSIDE a claimed area and murdered me!

Build a palisade. It takes a very, very strong player to destroy a palisade by hand which takes quite the time. In that time you probably get to alt vault some of your goodies and log off.deane wrote:ah so the normal ground cover is NOT grass right? if so sounds like I'll be doing grass with all the q1 seeds I'm getting (just starting and highest seed is q5). also simple basic question. what the Bleep can i do about higher level players trespassing and murdering me? they literally came INSIDE a claimed area and murdered me!
Even new characters can enter claimed areas, all you can do is run and protect yourself with walls.
The most usual ground cover where you can't sprint is forest land.
