The whole phrase "political correctness" is a pejorative term. It implies an underlying motive other than that of simple "being a decent human being". It's rarely, if ever, used in a positive way.

Using these words with no good reason makes you an idiot, but I believe people have an inalienable right to be idiots. But then again, this goes fort any kind of profanity, if you overuse it it just loses impact and makes you look like you're slow in the head and need to insert buffer words to give yourself time to think.
