Ants sure, but if you want to survive a bear strike, get 40 or 50 UA.

Useful to know so far I've only seen chickens, foxes and wabbits.
The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate ... Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope. Yet, the Arcana is the means by which all is revealed. Beyond the beaten path lies the absolute end. It matters not who you are ... Death awaits you.

Best thing to do is take a look at Sevenless' Noob Guide. It gives a great line of progression to follow to make the most of your first few days, and afterwards.

As for the combat system, if you want to fight anything stronger than an ant you need more than stats...you have to learn all the different techniques to shift the balance of battle. The best way is to spar with someone with some patience.

"Dang, are your wagons that slow?"

More specifically, you need ~20 UA for fox (30 if your agility sucks), ~75 for boar, ~200 for bear, ~5 for a bunch of ants, don't even try a troll, you need ~250 to fight a herd of aurochsen, you need ~170 I think, to fight a herd of mouflons (since they feed your manuevers SO MUCH you can regain full atk and defense with nothing but oak stance and bloodlust in less than a second)
That's basically it.

I said "you need more than stats"...meaning that even if you have the suggested skills, you will still lose to even weak animals if you can't fully exploit your repertoire of moves. Try taking on a boar without keeping an eye on advantage, and you'll see what I mean.

Ants are easy target practice, because you can just attack them, Slide to keep your guard up, Jump to recharge your attack, and then slowly try all moves and strategies on them.

OOooh woops, I misunderstood what you mean. Still, my point stands.

Right that sound about right. I've taken a look at that guide and now I'am done with my first house, I met a guy called Samus and another one who went afk after first message.

I must say, even if the grapics are not eye pleasing the game itself is quite unique and fun.

Remember, there are many graphics mods, or if you can, you can make your own.
