rename windows.conf (in Ender folder)

start again - check for numbers in new windows.conf - put in renamed one - delete new one - rename old one

I hope nobody minds me asking for some assistance in this thread. I am new to this game and after reading a lot of posts in this thread. I am still a bit confused on how to solve my current issue.

As I may have noticed with some others. I too am getting a message that reads "Connection refused: connect" or a messaging saying that the client cannot access the server when the server is online.

It does this for both the Ender's game client AND the default game client from the website. Could somebody be so kind as to point me to a page that has a solution for both of these problems? I tried following the instructions I've found and edited my run.bat for Ender's, but it doesn't seem to be working. It's times like these when I feel below average intelligence.

OS: Windows Vista
Java: Java7 (but apparently have Java6 too)
Antivirus: Windows Security Essentials (had Norton, but it expired)

And just the C:\ and not C:\Profile Files?

It doesn't help to give just parts of the informations needed ;)
What OS - What Bit version
What Java - what Bit version - install path
post your Ender run.bat

What Antivirus /Firewall

If it's the build in Windows firewall make exceptions for ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 in it - also try with "direct connection" in Java Control Panel - Network settings

The C:\ answer was @stickynote1234 only ;) - but yes to plain C:\ (root) to keep the path away from his user profile

Oh.

OS: Windows Vista 32bit
Java: (how do I check the Java bit version?) C:\Program Files\Java\jre7 (or 6)
run.bat

Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res

ok on Vista 32 Bit you only can install / use Java 32 Bit

your run.bat looks ok

you might try with javaw.exe instead of java.exe - and edit a new line in containing pause

Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms256m -Xmx512m -jar haven.jar moltke.seatribe.se -r ./res
pause

with pause the CMD window stays open and you can see if there are other error messages
(if there are you should screenshot, upload image and post)
