A few friends and I have found a relatively abandoned village. We've knocked the palisade open and have access to the village idol. The problem is: apparently the lawspeaker is still alive.
Now there are two guys sleeping in the cellars of their homes on this village's land (one of whom might be the LS). So we had an idea. If we destroy the house and bury them in their cellars, will they die? Oh, they also have hearth fire traps at the bottom of their cellar stairs; will destroying the house destroy the cellar?

This is a good question, it would make abandoned cellars work as a hearth vault if you also have a vidol.
