I lived on them with my crafter for a while in w5. I have never been a member of a town (long enough to really count, that is.) Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Not sure how useful this is, but I have recently started marking herbalist tables by placing same quality fresh tea leaves on nearby tables. When they dry to black leaves I leave them there to give relative quality indicator of the table.

If you've got a cavern to forage they're not really difficult to make. Touch early atm, but buying milk later world becomes pretty easy once cow quantity stats get up there.SuperNoob wrote:while those are a pure psy food, they're sort of upper tier and not for us hermits...I know I personally have never eaten 1, I usually get my psy from WWW(and always regret it if I don't have a good table)Sevenless wrote:Cave bulbs?MagicManICT wrote:there's no good pure PSY foods.
And if you don't have a cavern, it's not a bad idea to make a vidol in one at some point.

lol can't count how many times I've moved an herbalist table and forgot which is higher quality...this is a very useful tip, but I think we're all still hoping to have quality of items like that displayed in game in some future versionvatas wrote:Not sure how useful this is, but I have recently started marking herbalist tables by placing same quality fresh tea leaves on nearby tables. @7 I'm never big on trading and I read your guide when I started so I'm always a hermit. I always seem to have a large cave system(luck?) but I've never had a cavern(except where a few tunnels meet up/split off), but finding cavebulbs has never really been the problem. I HATE farming...so never keep many animals ergo milk goes into cheese making(maybe I should get a farming bot).

Why to use Fresh Tealeaves? They turn twice, first to Green and then Black leaves meaning they will go closer to Table's quality than other stuff that only turns once.
q10 table and q20 fresh leaves would make q15 greens and q12 blacks, for example.RingofBrodgar wrote: The quality of anything produced on a table is the average of the precursor item and the table quality. This means you can test the quality of a table by checking the quality of items produced.

Bears can break cellar stones. It likely has to do with the new mechanic where trolls can bash stonesGallade wrote:Alright, stop the presses. I don't think I saw this on the list. *Ahem*.
The boulders you dig up when clearing space for a basement cannot be broken by animals.
Meaning that you can cage in a deer (who otherwise breaks signpost fences) and smack/shoot it as much as you like without retaliation.
The best part? You can chip stones from the boulder, so you won't run out of ammo for your sling/bow easily. Just make sure you don't chip enough that the boulder breaks...
I don't take responsability for someone attempting to trap a boar or bear getting horribly mauled because they got aggro'd while attempting it.

Why settle for a [-1|+1] quality check if you can do a absolute table-q check.
Let me include the formula to be used, or the above makes no sense.
TableQ[-1,+1] = (ItemOutQ*2)-ItemInQ
---RoB-Wiki wrote:Use both a Even and a Uneven q item (=> Fresh Tealeave). The higher TableQ of the two is the actual TableQ.
