So a quick question about making leather. I know that when a dried hide is place in a tanning tub you must wait 8 hours for the hide to become leather. I also read that if you place the tub into a boat/cart/leanto, the progress of the leather will be set to 92%. But after placing some dried rabbit hides into a tanning tub, I logged out for twenty or so minutes. When I logged back in the progress of the leather was set to 92% without the tub being placed into a boat. Is this supposed to happen?

Someone must stand next to the tanning tub because, upon being unloaded, it resets to 92%. When you put it in a boat, it's unloaded, therefore 92%.Shmac wrote:So a quick question about making leather. So basically put it in boat, get it out, and AFK 20 minutes, that's all.

I get that, but what I'm saying is that, without using a boat, my tub was set to 92% after being logged out for ~20 minutes. I was just wondering if this is intentional. Thanks for the quick response thoughNOOBY93 wrote:Someone must stand next to the tanning tub because, upon being unloaded, it resets to 92%. Oh yeah well, as I said, when you logged out, it took like 15 mins to unload, and when it did it reset to 92%.Shmac wrote:I get that, but what I'm saying is that, without using a boat, my tub was set to 92% after being logged out for ~20 minutes. Foraging only hardcaps foraging, digging dirt, and digging clay. Trees aren't affected at all, either. I'm not sure about fishing (though butchering is still softcapped).borka wrote:afaik ore is the same as before - on cave lvl1 i got q10 ore with surv 8 miner (sometimes there are higher q spots even on cave lvl1 but i haven't found one yet so i can't say whether surv is in the game for that...)GanjaGuardian wrote:Do the changes to survival (requiring 20 survival to pick up q20 clay, forageables etc) apply to ore?
I'm raising a miner but I want to know if I should spend any points in survival to ensure I get the best Q ore.

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
Hey, thank you so much. This is the first response I've gotten or the first thing that has made any sense! SILLY, but genius. It probably is my problem. Now I just have to figure out how to discover all the parts required. (Because, no, you're right - I haven't)Seizure wrote:Have you actually discovered all the parts required to built it? Without the discovery, it wont show up.
Silly mechanic, but its likely your problem.
Any tips on how to discover/find the metal parts required? I have the wood down, of course.

When I need to discover things, I always just either discover it or use the barter stand trick...
Build a barter stand, and put the item you want to discover in it with a char that doesnt matter. Then buy the item with the character you want to discover. Instant discovery.

Vending stands are better than barter stands. Just shift click the item in, then shift click it out. Don't need to have an owner, there is no owner when there are no items.
