Equip apples in the head slot.

How about this?

-You can equip an apple in your 1L slot
-The apple is unequipped and falls to the ground if you move faster than a crawl or engage in melee combat
-If someone shoots an arrow at you and the attack hits, the apple is replaced with an "arrowed apple".Perhaps a new low-mid curio?
-If the shot doesn't hit, you take damage as if it had hit you.

No balancing issues, no practical application, more like an "easter egg" for giggles.
