Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
So I finally got Yeomanry so I could claim land for my girlfriend and I...and I think I placed the claim too close to the house.

I can't interact with the claim at all. I figured I could put it there so I could more easily control the boundaries, but now I can't even tell it to let my girlfriend in. Is this fixable? O.o

You have to declaim and then build a new stake. I did the same thing wanting to save space, but you need to be able to get to the center of the tile the stake is on to activate its controls.

I know that a mining helm helps protect from some cave-in damage, but does armor help protect from cave-in damage as well?

How do I get carrots? Ive put 60+ of those Wild Windsown Weeds in my drying frames to dry and not a single one has turned to a carrot seed. Has anybody had success with this yet?

You're just unlucky, by now thou it should be easy to trade with someone for few seeds. Also i remember reading somewhere ages ago that there's a possibility of WWW having different chance distribution for seeds depending on what terrain it was picked at. It's a rumour rather than confirmed data but if all your WWWs come from same place try foraging for them elswhere.T0ne11 wrote:How do I get carrots? There's some truth to it. If you're foraging the same areas over and over, you're going to get the same seeds. You need to find different areas. If I recall correctly (and this is from a couple years ago), jorb did confirm that seeds gotten are based at least on the minimap and that there are only a couple of different ones per map section. I don't know if terrain has anything to do with it, but I know I've gotten some different ones in a swamp compared to the surrounding forest. This may be purely coincidence, though.Snk wrote:You're just unlucky, by now thou it should be easy to trade with someone for few seeds. Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Terrain has nothing to do with it but yes, they are locked to regions to a certain degree. What seeds are in what region is entirely random. We had a pumpkin and carrot shortage for awhile because of this in w5 until we were able to trade for some.
