Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
one important difference between village claim vs personal claim is that vclaim lets strangers walk around freely while pclaim requires them to turn criminal acts on (thus trespassing scents will be left when no permission).
it also applies to creatures and they can spawn on vclaim but not on pclaim. a big enough forest tiled area with many trees could let an agressive bear or boar spawn inside your walls, even though the village idol raises the civilization level up to let that happen less or down the animal level. with big enough grassland or heath/moore tiles, mouflons, aurochs, fox and chicken can spawn inside.

Yeah I've had boar spawn inside my palisade, to the chagrin of a couple of my newbies. But it's nice having deer spawn right there; also at one point I've had aurochs spawn inside my animal pens (as I fully grass my animal pens).Tonkyhonk wrote:one important difference between village claim vs personal claim is that vclaim lets strangers walk around freely while pclaim requires them to turn criminal acts on (thus trespassing scents will be left when no permission).

Re: Please Ask Simple Questions Here
Claims don't prevent creatures from spawning, no matter the claim type. I'm not sure if it was ever true at one time or not. The only way to prevent bears and boars from spawning at your front door is to pave a large enough area or turn it into grassland. Paving will prevent anything from spawning while grass will allow "safe" animals to spawn and appropriate forageables.
That I'm aware, the only thing the civilization level does is lower quality, and there's been a bit of debate if it even does that anymore.

edit: I could swear I've seen them inside my fence, but last one I saw there has been a long while, and don't recall the exact layout I had then.

Nyeah, I've definitely had the experience of a boar spawning inside my village claim before, but haven't seen that happen since the personal claim went up. Could just be luck, but I'm inclined to think otherwise.
