True that (at least the kind of houses we think of here (and the sprite we all see in our heads)), but :

Trading between the baltic and mediterranean seas have been there since time immemorial (when are we going to see Amber - Electron in the game, maybe a small chance to get it when digging for sand?), so IMO having adobe houses in the game could make sense even with the Germano-slavic feel. JnL may think otherwise of course.
