I just have a hard time seeing you criticizing any large faction in any way

I don't see why I should criticise what other factions do or don't do to be honest. It's not my business, it's not about safety or profit. I joke with ainran guys and they joke about it themselves at the extent they use bots. some love it, its a new experience, others like naowhut don't. is it my business what ainran guys do? not really!_Gunnar wrote:Oh I think that you have misunderstood me, I wouldnt say botting in general is "bad"; I choose to only use one bot* because thats the way I prefer to play, but I do think that foraging bots are really harmful to what I would consider the core experience of the game. Are you saying that Xcom uses those? I understand he writes them but didnt realise that people in your town actually used them extensively...
I just have a hard time seeing you criticizing any large faction in any wayand the best way of avoiding that and keeping everyone happy is for you to say forage botting is not a problem, which is what you have done, effectively.

This is my favorite point you made I think. Players feel a necessity to farm 500 tile fields now because that's where the standard has been placed because of bots. Back in the day, doing fields like that manually was seldom done and so the standard for how much you felt you needed to farm to remain competitive was much lower. I think we saw less of a fall off because of the tedium of everyday playing back before the standard was so high because you just played how you wanted without being completely shit-stomped if you didn't.Xcom wrote:Why do you think the world started with 1000 players and now have droped down to roughly 500 or less. In about 3 months or so the player base will level out at maybe half that. Remove all the bots and you will end up with a dead server.
And yet FarmVille was the biggest games on the Internet for a long while.Xcom wrote:. But after 2-3 years if your still doing the same tasks it astonishes me and confuses me that some people enjoy repeating the most rudimentary tasks like farming
One thing you don't take into account is the monotony of repeating the same stuff for the extent of period people have played this game. Haven is not like other games where you can take a vacation from it for a few weeks then come back. Food troughs needs to be filled. Coops needs to be turned over and all the curios, GOD DAMN CURIOS. If I had the chance to play haven differently so there was less grindy elements to it I would but thats all up to Loftar. There are so many parts of haven that could be fixed with a few tweaks that it amazes me why its not been done earlier.rye130 wrote:This is my favorite point you made I think.
