When you have several houses full of containers you will end up forgetting what you stashed in those, and it's annoying to open every single one of them to see what you got. It would be a nice feature to hover the mouse over containers inside your claim/village to fast-check your thingies.

I never found this a problem last world, I had set houses for set materials, i.e. cooking, silk, leather etc and it's not hard to remember individual cupboards/containers when things are organized. But, this world having houses and mansions both above and below ground I am constantly making mistakes over where things are and spend a lot of time running needlessly between the two. It doesn't help that certain similar materials are housed in both bases supposedly for ease, lol.
Consequently I think this is a brilliant idea.

just let you label cupboards so that people dont end up dumping tree growing shit in your cooking cupboard etc

Labelling stuff is also a great idea

I'd rather have object dyes, myself. Being able to color cupboards (also a use for poor ignored inkweed).

In the meantime, something you can do is just keep your stuff organized, have a couple "catcher" cupboards for dumping random stuff in, but have rows of cupboards for a specific type of item here and there (and use a carpet here and there to mark where in the row the "boundaries" of these categories.

done that, they get flooded and problem proceeds. id rather just have them to be labelled then just explaining all the dying boundaries stuff >.> but its still a cool idea nonetheless.

im guessing labelling isnt gonna be added so ill have to build 50 cupboards instead ^_^~
