Ever heard of alts? Due to people who would kill me for fun (Delamore, Jackard, whoever else is an ass), I mainly play on my Alt. My main has contacts with NO one. I always conduct trade on an alt, to avoid being killed. Call it paranoid. I call it playing safe.

If you mainly play on your alt, how is it your alt?

probably because it lacks development.

Exactly. The only development it has is in farming and all those menial jobs. My main has good UA and Melee, along with good armour and all that. I play my main when i'm building things, improving my homestead etc. I play my alt when I farm, bake goods. All that stuff.

Also, i'm only paranoid because some people in this game are deliberate assholes, and i've seen too many friends be killed for doing hardly anything wrong. If I were to lose all my progress for a second time (first time was 10 minutes into the new map, I swam and died with 38 constitution) i'd probably quit playing for good.

Becoming attached to a character in an alpha development game isn't healthy, dude. You can expect to have all of your progress erased entirely at some point in the future (albeit far and away). Furthermore, once you fully understand game mechanics, you can prevent your character from dying by not doing the stupid shit your friends did.

At least until we get SHARKS!

Not really, because started anew when everyone else has a firm foothold in the game sucks. When everyone gets erased, at least we'll all be fresh off the boat, so it won't annoy me.

Only reason losing all your progress at this point in time sucks, is because everyone else gets much further ahead and it gets on your nerves.

Also, to clear it up:

Alt - the guy I use to do all the menial stuff, farming, cooking, gathering stuff. His farming is good.

Main - the guy I let do all the building, fighting, expanding, exploring. I'm on him most of the time. His farming sucks.
