I discovered this game through some internet surfing and my interest is piqued. I've played several games with similar qualities (Wurm and Mortal Online) and this game seems to match up pretty well. So after reading some guides while I stumbled around aimlessly, I'd like to ask if I should go it alone for awhile or if I should try to find some people to join up with. It would be good to know what some of the vets of this game think, just so I don't waste my or anyone's time.
Thanks

Re: Opening Moves
It's more fun to go it alone for atleast a few weeks, then try to find a group.
You'll make more progress with a group, but it sucks when a group takes someone, gears them up and then they quit a week or so later.
Make sure you're not a quitter before you try to join a group.
Also, no good group will take you with no experience.

Re: Opening Moves
Most towns will keep you couped up inside large walls to keep you safe. This is fine and great, especially once you're established and don't want to lose what you have. It's much less fun than getting to explore the world and what it has to offer though. I agree with Arcanist that it's better to start out alone or just with one or two other people and get a chance to try everything out. =)

Do it alone for a week, at the end of the week you will know whether you want to play long term or quit. 90% of the players quit after their first week, its a very tedious and elitist game.

That and playing as a hermit teaches you a lot about the game, since you have to get every item yourself, you have to wiki it, and you learn much faster about how everything works then if you were in a village. Plus, you can tell the village you're applying to that you have some experience in the game.petal wrote:Do it alone for a week, at the end of the week you will know whether you want to play long term or quit. 90% of the players quit after their first week, its a very tedious and elitist game.
