I want to make one thing clear. Loftar ignores all our bug reports so we could message him a month in advance and he would just let us crash server then blame us for it. The only person who responded to our PMs was Jorb when we did this last and by the time we had explained things to Jorb about the bug Loftar had most likely figured it out on his own without our help.
In short. Next time we make a massive project that might crash server it wont be announced publicly, like the numen project. It will be done in the shadows bug reported for the formality then posted a week later when everyone have forgotten about the crash.
In all honesty the haven game will be retired and forgotten soon after. I for one want to explore its depths before its all wasted away.

Re: GarbageDay!
you guys bring up that a lot of this isn't going to matter with the release of haven 2.0, but really, it's all practical information on flaws in some of the database systems and code that may be reused. therefore, not really useless.
Guess it's these rollbacks and such that do occur, rare that they are, that have kept me from really investing my time here like I have in EVE and other MMOs in the past.

Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

It's good to know that you've tried communicating, that's what I assumed and that's all I wanted to hear. The rest however does not strike me as positive, but it seems pointless to argue about.Xcom wrote:...
Reading up on Hafen, they are rewriting Haven and replacing it with the next big update. I didn't know about that so please forgive my lack of knowledge and involvement with the community.
This is the most recent development news I found with a quick search, posted in April:
I guess I'm just going to enjoy the game and not worry about getting too serious about progress, since "soon" it will probably all be lost anyway. Kind of sad that I didn't discover Haven earlier, or else I could've been right there with you playing around with the game's mechanics out of curiosity, if it managed to keep my interest. Well, if we stick around long enough there will be enough opportunity to do the same with Hafen. Hopefully with more developer interest in the player base. No offense.Oddity wrote:#salem wrote:(18:04:21) <loftar> Right now I'm still a bit too busy with other things, however. I've been trying to get Hafen to a point where we can start implementing content for it, and I think we should be there rather soon.

Re: GarbageDay!
Haven will run concurrently with Hafen for quite awhile so people can continue to play out their characters here. Even when Hafen is released you'll have plenty of time to do as you please in Haven until such a point where Hafen is strictly better than Haven. =)

Re: GarbageDay!
Even better, thanks for the clarification. The thread I got my information from stated otherwise, but it's outdated information then. Or in my hurry I've just missed the update. Gosh, I feel so misinformed, but then again reading through everything takes so much time without a clear source of info. Sorry if I caused any hassle.TeckXKnight wrote:Haven will run concurrently with Hafen for quite awhile so people can continue to play out their characters here. Information is scattered everywhere and jumbled. Jorb stated that in reply to concerns about Haven shutting down. I'll try to find the quote, one moment.
