What's the value of this road? It seems to go from nowhere to nowhere. That's a lot of time, energy, and resources to sink into a project for the sake of it.

Part of this road goes right by my village. No one has asked me about this so here is my reply: I do not like the idea of this road nor anything else about it. Giving a raider a free ticket to bring a cart or oxcart right up to my walls or anyone's claim is not a good idea. Anyone who does not have brick walls along this path will be instantly screwed 10x faster than normal. Not to mention the immense time and deaths it will take to build.

TL;DR I will stomp to dirt any road that comes within lets say 5 miles of my camp. And no I will not tell you where it is so you can send people to try and destroy me for this mental masturbation of a project.

Speaking as an old roadbuilder, this wouldn't really be a problem. Also once it's been paved that will be a lot of effort you'll have to go through (plant grass, then stomp to dirt, per tile). And as I said dirt roads are ok too, although they don't have the longevity of pavement of course.


But OP, you really shouldn't build roads you don't need. Is old Brodgar city the big settlement in the southeast corner of your plan map? Now I could see something back in the day doing that (as I remember passing by a large cut in the forests that was going to be a Grey City - Brodgar road). But this isn't World 3 anymore, the community is different and nice things are simply not allowed. And even with relative pacifist neutrals are usually against roads, you probably won't find any support.

Focus on building roads in your area if you need to build roads. Build where you often travel to, like between resource points or where you like to usually hunt or forage.

There were some guys that did this last world, there is a thread about it somewhere in the archives, it was objected to at first, understandably, but ended up getting quite a bit of support and a few people joined in to help build it - But, they did ask the villages and bases in their path if it was ok first, when someone objected they just deviated the route.
