you can find out easy because mined stoned q is like ore q and next to HQ caveclay stone q is like HQ cave clay q

what is the best way to fence cows in so i have easy access for milking?

You can trap cows inside fence doors just by building 2 fence corner posts on either side with a 2 block space in between to place the fence door and then you can break the fence corner posts if you want more space. Might take some finagling though initially.
