Would you say that Tobi opened a forbidden door and loosed a host of evils onto your friends village?
You're rights guys, it's unfair. Everybody that have a little of logic in the brain, knows how much unfair it is. People uses custom clients to have this advantages. Not only in pvp, anyway. Most of advantages are on the fatigue that a player suffer every day from a ruotine game. Multiclick, botting, a better menu, many functions, advanced map. item radars, no dark caves and so on.
It IS unfair. The game should be the same for everyone and the winner should be the ones that play better. But this is H&H. This is not a game. Is a program made by 2 guys that know a little of what "game" means. Games are crafted places where there are rules to guarantee a nice and entertaining hour and where players are all at the same level, so they can win for theyr inner ability.
This is not it. This is.. uhmm... we can call it a "baby". A not very well projected game, with lots of unbalancing things. First of all, the client itself.
Do you wish to play this program because you think the main idea is worth it? Then you have to know that you'r game session begins in the forum, downloading the right client and having the right friends, knowing the territories, the known bugs and reading the survival guides.
The in game session is only part of it.
Take you'r choise, because the devs will not prevent people from make better clients. For them, is part of the game, i think.
"Unfair" is not the right word to describe this situation. We all have equal possibilities and everyone is free to create their own client. An actual issue here is that professional skills give some people advantage. But fairness is unnatural and can not be achieved both irl and in game. Older people have disadvantage because of slower reaction, socially awkward people have problems gathering numbers and making allies, people with lives can't spend as much time on a game as nerds do, badly educated and stupid ones can't understand simple math behind all the mechanics and their development is inefficient, ... Can be continued. Every skill related to the game gives you some advantage, therefore people not having the skill are experiencing disadvantage and might feel like that is unfair. MMO game supposed to be about showing better skills, isn't it? Just think about coding as one of those skills.
That's have nothing to do with games.
Games are a line outside the reality. A "model of a mechanic" that is close in itself, where all the players have the same cards, turns and game system. Once you have removed the reality obstacles (money, time, quality of pc, cultures, ideals), players will challenge on the same board.
You then have a Game.
That's why H&H can't be called a game. It is deeply into reality rules, contaminated by every single aspect of it. Culture, time, money, knowledge and so on.
Is a programm with an inner mechanism that is just a white page where everybody can write with theyr in real skills.
If you are a coder, you'll have advantages. if you talk russian, you'll have advantages. If you read the forum, you have advantages.
This is something that have nothing to do with videogames.

I believe this assumption is wrong. If you look up the exact meaning of games it gives a multitude of definitions. I think HnH falls into the first one in that list "An activity providing entertainment or amusement". If you look at HnH like a competitive game as described in the 2nd one. "A competitive activity or sport in which players contend with each other according to a set of rules." you end up in a tilt where you constantly feel like an underachiever. You also start building your own rules in your own mind and bash anyone that doesn't fall into your perfect rulebook. Often you get nothing done other then blame others instead of blaming yourself or just accepting bad luck and improve yourself to not fall into another trap.

Thank you its the most reasnoable ansfer i've got , i died and im waiting for my new computer then, i meybe will continue playing on. (its a good game but has issues)
I know that ender client helps a lot and i use it, but i also think that "nightvison" ,hiding objects, that "pathfinding line" that i dont even use, and animal radius destroys a lot of immersion.
just imagine how cooler would be a sneaky night raid, ambushes at night or whathever, instead of living on "eternal day".
Also mines just dont make sense now i would like to see someones faces if they were walking with a torch on mine and bumped on a troll.

Yes, everyone agrees. The devs are working on solutions for these issues for Hafen.
