Might I also point out that Salem is looking better than ever?

You have no soul, sir. Salem is awesome. There are pillories for criminals, and you can spank people in them. How many other ways can you spell awesome? ^^

Mind you while those things are indeed awesome, they are also things that made an appearance after your departure... Not that I'm continuing this ride upon the hate train, just sayin'

I think most people (on this forum at least) don't have much love for Salem, if any at all.

Salem was actually very fun at one point

Hustlinguistics and I were pulling some 8h days for quite a while in our village and I was enjoying it very much until they fucked the purity up for us and we all quit.

Farming was too complex and required too much management for me to get any real enjoyment out of it though, too much grind on top of grind in too many different aspects of the game

but! which month in 2019 tho? that is the real question.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

That Salem stuff is cool, but it kinda feels artificial because it's all so Boston-centric. Having vast majority of player interactions take place in a safe zone everyone can teleport to just leaves this theme park taste, hence the soul deficiency.

Anyway, I'm sorry for being so negative. It's just that there hasn't been new stuff in ages, and repeating criticism just comes more naturally than repeating praises

Potjeh is right, you should drop the boston crap and just add in a buy menu.

Not to defend myself, but to explain that phenomenon, many of the more interesting ideas presented are of that nature that I'm not really sure what to think about them; and much less, then, what I'd respond to them. It is common for there to be ideas that are, on the surface, bad, lacklustre or just not in line with our vision, or that I just don't know if I like or not, but center around an analysis that might seem to have some sliver of truth that could perhaps be dug out given enough work. Without doing that work, there's no way to meaningfully respond to them, and then I instead carry them with me and mull over them for a few days, weeks or months, or just use them as yardsticks for similar ideas that we come up with. But yet wouldn't know what to respond.

Call it a deficiency of me to be bad at putting half-baked thoughts into words.
