I like the forums how they are now. The colors are fine.

try to read this post from earlier in the thread to see what i mean about "unbearable"Amanda44 wrote:You could make it a bit narrower I guess if going by Jackards link that is the ideal length for readability, though in all honesty it doesn't give me a problem at all, whereas small lines of big text really is frustrating.

Many thanks. The empty space is slightly distracting but by god it's worth it, so much easier to read.ArvinJA wrote:Here's a user-style if anyone is interested in what loftar posted. I also made some changes to how images and videos and so on are displayed, so keep that in mind.

Yes, but how is it any better all bunched up? It doesn't alter the wall of text, it just lengthens it down-wise, it will take up the whole page! I can't see how it helps to have shorter lines, really, I'm not just being argumentative.Jackard wrote:try to read this post from earlier in the thread to see what i mean about "unbearable"Amanda44 wrote:You could make it a bit narrower I guess if going by Jackards link that is the ideal length for readability, though in all honesty it doesn't give me a problem at all, whereas small lines of big text really is frustrating.
But I don't use my mobile for the forum, so maybe that's what I'm missing.

Yeah it's ugly. Utilitarian quick fixes can only do so much.Ninijutsu wrote:The empty space is slightly distracting but by god it's worth it, so much easier to read.

Re: The Ghost of Christmas Future, II
It's hard for the eye to go from line n to line n+1 if lines are too long. If there's only one or two lines, it'll still be easy (most short posts are of that length). However, when someone decides to post a full-length novel, it becomes way more straining.Amanda44 wrote:Yes, but how is it any better all bunched up? Basically the idea is to reduce the eye strain per line switch, so that, regardless of the amount of lines in total, it will still be fairly easy to read.

Re: The Ghost of Christmas Future, II
So you're telling me that you read each line of the original, then compared it to the reduced length and didn't find the fix any less eyestraining or easier to follow?Amanda44 wrote:Yes, but how is it any better all bunched up? Or is this still conjecture.
