Weird it looks like the world just got stitched together here. See the line on the minimap? its like that along the whole world map.

i think it's a supergrid edge. some people will clear cut along them xD

That's where supergrids meet. Due to how world generation works, supergrids will connect in ways that don't match features.

They have a good reason to, they are guaranteed to be unobstructed by rivers and therefore are perfect wagon trails for long distance travel.

Your guaranteed is flawed in its core. Take a good look at the image again and mirror that watery SG border ... and your road turns into a guaranteed dead end, or at least a very long detour. (low chance != 100%)
