One puts LP in UA and MC to dominate by raiding and killing - i put LP in pclaim instead to try to keep it permanently and to hinder someone dominating me at low costs. That's just my Hermits logic of permanency - it's my idea how to handle the game mechanics as it is and prevent to be fucked over ... without anykind of abusing or exploiting involved.

except in the case of taking over a node ...

read my fine print last sentence
And btw. i don't care for "endgame" - the world starts - i play and develop - the world ends ... and without predefined worlds end there can't be an "endgame" anyways

Thomas you remember the area i was in W6 - remember the vclaim DIS had made overall the world - the only way to avoid that those vclaims are able to kill your property is to make them huge so that the investment for vclaimers in Auth and materials are just too high - that's a lesson i learned in last world.
And btw. it's the only counter measure a non botter can take against botters to keep his property ... so it's not abuse but totally legit in my view.
While i would always be ok under certain circumstances to make a fair ingame deal for giving up my property.
Aslong you'd ask before "square and fair" raiding me if not there'd be resistance to the max (which would include sabotage and vandalizing a node).
I had my experience with an attempt of unfriendly take over in W4 and seen what resistance (with some good outsiders help) brings.
Asking for RL money sure is not legit but i won't call it abuse to keep the pclaim - may be you didn't offer enough ingame compensation. Asking the Devs for a fix isn't a solution because it matters us all.
If you're in need for a neutral mediator / negotiator shoot me a PM.
oh btw. if you'd try to cover that part of the world with statues keep in mind you'd need a lotta more statues because of my anti take over claims - and be sure i'd do my best to support my neighbours to be able to invest in theirs too
When they knew we were taking it over for sure, they completely vandalized it. I believe same thing happened last world with the q80+ clay node that was completely ruined because the owners mentality was if he couldn't have it, no one could.
We offered them 1000 pearls before they completely killed the clay, and they wouldn't accept. (silly koreans)
So it's not like we didn't offer them ingame compensation.
I could literally make 600x600 pclaims every two days, and no one would be able to remove them. It can completely be abused. (not to mention I could study more than 1 char at a time)

Mmm, Not really that important. But I don't mind seeing the math involved on that one. As I get a different size outcome. Still massive by any standard, but definitively not as super massive as shown. (I also might be wrong here, rechecking after some relaxing TV time.)
(Side note: SQRT(4500)=67.08~)
---
Theoretical max area, no overlap: 4500*(61*61)/(5000*5000)=0.66978(Or 67% of a single SG)
Practical, its of course even worse: (((4500+1)*30)+1)*61/(5000*5000)=0.32947564 (ignoring none significant cornering.)
67% of the world, Sorry, but .

It seems that any small changes were to be made, two of them has to be implemented at the same time to deal with two separate problems,
-The first having a way to limit the size of a village so that it doesn't encompass the entire world. My first thought is a slight logarithmic equation so that the larger the village, the more maintenance in authority it requires per authority object, nothing too absurd though but a discouragement. The counter to this is making alt villages though alt villages will be significantly weaker than fully developed villages and may not be able to remove personal claims.
- The second is to make it so that the authority to remove a personal claim is reduced by the following mean. This has been suggested before but someone had suggested the personal claim have authority with the same formula basis as village ones. To remove the claim, it pits the authority of the village vs the authority of the claim owner so that you can't just stick a claim, feed it LP to make it absurdly large and impossible to remove, you have to keep maintaining it in respect to the size of the claim. As a side effect, if the personal claim's authority is lower than 20%, it can be destroyed and will no longer have authority over the land which helps if people quit the game that their land can be reclaimed.
Note that the offline feature of the curiosity system makes it rather easy to gain authority. Unfortunately I haven't figured out an easily solution with this yet with the possible exception that curiosity ticks off at a dramatically reduced rate when offline. The ideas are still rough around the edges and can be smoothed out.
Sadly all I have are ideas and may not be implemented as the developers seems to be putting most of their effort in the new Haven.
-=The law of inverse desire=- The chances of dropping what you want is the reciprocal of how much you want it.
So the smaller, less general powerfull group, is not willing to submit (give up). I think that as long as there capable to do so, its there right. And there showing they do not agree with the self proclaimed right over the node by the other group by using the control they still have over the node to diminish its use to them. Seems like a classic real world example where a dominate power tries to dominate a smaller group that's not willing to submit to there demands. ... Classic.
Anyway. Your fight is clearly not over yet. And unless your willing to build those 4500 statues, or are willing to actively hunt down any and all still active opposing characters/alts. Your best option seems to be Borka.
I'd say both are on par - not in numbers maybe but in being "Big Players" (good that there are no patent wars implemented in game mechanics )
I don't see any effects by mediating the conflict anymore in the advanced stage that is ... and with the informations i as neutral person got now i understand that even the seemingly high offer of 1000 pearls wasn't acceptable for the owners
