I have a similar problem.. Normally, H&H runs fine on my laptop. (dual core 64 bit @1.6Ghz, 1G RAM, XP pro SP3, ATI radeon express 1100 with up-to-date drivers)
However, when I watch some streaming video's, and after that start up H&H, it will eat up 100% CPU, and be very, very laggy.
I'd say it skips drawing 19/20 frames.
I don't know if streaming videos (on megavideo.com) involves OpenGL. If so, it is a primary suspect for this behaviour.
Only solution I've found, is rebooting my PC.

Re: 100% CPU Usage
I used to have this problem on windows 7 until I downloaded OpenGL drivers.

They're backwards compatible.

Re: 100% CPU Usage
OK, I have changed my video card from: Radeon 9200 with 256MB Ram, and switched to an old Geforce4 Ti 4400 128MB Ram. I run the game, it goes to about 80-90% cpu used on processor now, and the game seems to be running ok now. Looks very playable, however it is still using that 90% leaving my computer held at about 100% used.
I would say this fixes my problem though now, the game can be played so were good
Thanks for all the help guys.

Re: 100% CPU Usage
I've also found that if I close clients my system accumulate lag. Reboot solves this but I should think there's a way to track down a clear what's being hung up in linux.
