My current thoughts are to let the current server continue running alongside the new for a while until we decide to put it out of its misery (which could happen for a number of reasons), but that's not strictly a promise, mind you.

(I think there was also a post on this from Jorb, but could not find that one.)

Can I get some confirmation on this? I'm gonna be super bummed if they retire this version. I have a lot of nostalgia about it and I always have fun when I play, especially once a reset has happened and everything starts fresh.

The only statement made regarding this is that World 7 will continue in some capacity whilst Alpha/Beta of 2.0 goes on and eventually when everyone quits World 7 (Or the world gets dead enough) it'll be shut down and 1.0 will be gone.

That's a real shame... Haven is my favorite game by far and I can't wait to play the new version but I'm gonna miss the current version if it gets taken down. Would it just be retired to the annals of hell never to be seen again?

Probably as the code got worn off. Sure i'd love to have this sweet 2D going - but i understand there must be evolution too - and btw. who should fix and maintain the old code?!?

I wouldn't even care if it was up to date and everything, I'd just be happy if it were kept available at all. :P

That costs money. Do you want to pay for their servers?

I believe it's already been established that I and many others would be willing to pay a reasonable price for the game.

Lol, a new creative way to finance a game : release, menace for a game changing patch, make the old timers addict pay to play the game without the patch ¦]
