Hello!

Hi! I heard about this game a while ago and wanted to know how it's going. Is the community still active and are the devs still planning on updating the game? Is it dead? Or is it up and running? Thanks!

Is the community still active

You've been able to post here so this is answered already ...
If you'd be active too you would have stumbled across:

Chill M8, not every newbie patrols the forums like a leech ;)

@OP, the forums a (kinda) active, but not many people play the game itself anymore. Most of the playerbase is just waiting for "Hafen" (Haven and Hearth 2.0) to be released, so don't be surprised if you don't run into anyone else.

Another reason why this is called a dead game...
"Me and Stone gonna break your bones." In loving memorry of Stick

Population levels are pretty steadily around 1/2 of what they were during world 3. We've also had an average post count of over 20 per day since the year started. I don't have the numbers for each year since the game came out but that's bigger than World 1, 2, and 6. The community is active if you engage it with questions, ideas, and politics. In-game, players are as hostile as they've ever been.

The devs will not be updating this build of the game. They've developed a new engine and are developing the game in that. We're expecting that to release soon (tm). The devs are still active in the community.

Welcome to Haven & Hearth. I hope you have fun and that you don't get killed too many times by stealth bears. =)

No.
If teckxknight permabanned everyone, these forums would only be inhabited by guests.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

You won't have to worry about professional noobs like metro though, all they'll do is halt your progress
