Trolls and troll spawning

Hi guys,

I've recently hit level 4 in the mining profession, although I also died from a massive cave in too, and was wondering about troll spawns.

I've read up a bit on wiki and all that but haven't been able to find a video clip showing an actual spawn whilst mining.

My question is how screwed would I be if one did spawn on me? I tend to mine until my stamina drops to the point where I can no longer mine so I wouldn't be able to Sprint away if one did spawn one me.

Any tips or inside knowledge on how to survive one spawning? lol

I've tunneled out hundreds maybe a thousand or so of tiles during mining and have only spawned one troll which ended up killing my alt.

One suggestion is use your mining alts hearthfire in a single tile wide corridor as sort of an obstacle for the troll to get through. If a troll spawns run through your hearthfire and it should slow him down enough for you to reach a ladder or cave exit.

Of course if your tired and cant run then this wont work, so take care and make sure you can run until you reach your hearthfire.

Now I know the troll will bash the hearthfire but I don't know how quickly. They also cant bash large stones (the ones from cellars) so you could use them to block trolls. This is in theory since I've never used these methods. More experience players could tell if these would work or not or how well.

Thanks borka I never saw that first video. The speed that the troll bashed the hearthfire, rubble, and palisade was insane.
