What did you hate in Salem you dont want in H&H ?

Honestly, where do I start! It would probably be easier to list what I did like about Salem, which wasn't much.

I think the devs pretty much know what everyone hated about Salem though tbh and I doubt it makes much difference to them considering they have now mixed the two up. Like you and everyone has already said both here and in numerous other threads, overall Salem was beyond tedious and way over complicated.

I have always had grave misgivings about the new version of Haven simply because I feel Salem still sits heavy with Jorb and Loftar and no matter what they say, or you all say, I just know there are going to be over complicated and boring mechanics changes to Haven, I bet levelling ground will be one of them, lol, mining will probably be another and I dread to think what else they may have done.

Still, not long until we find out.

lol, I know that the developers of HnH created the salem.
The reason I don't like salem figures is that they are too comical and I just can't force myself to like them. HnH figures on the other hand, are more simplified but more serious (Well, you might not have eyes and mouth, and generally a face, but it's still better for me ).

I actually liked Salem, its farming, the environment, the eating and gathering, and even the character. Never got to build anything big, but I liked what I did make. That probably betrays some serious character flaws.

But Haven is its own thing. It needs nothing from Salem to make it great, not even 3D. But, if you mean to make Haven 3D, make that one of the few or only changes.

EDIT: Oh, and tinder drills did kind of suck.

Derpy character movement

Camera angle

Inspirationals stats being used to study them

Silver and claim upkeep

Lack of defenses where the team willing to stay up late enough will always win

Land flattening and raising

Alt spawning off of pclaims

Depending on NPC stores for first materials

Stupidly tedious mining/smithing/farming systems

Timber piles

Coal burning for like 4 fuckin days and the need for massive amount of land just to have a steady supply

Treewalls

Heavy stat drain for movement requiring you to either walk at a snail's pace or to constantly be stuffing your face to replenish stats

Hexes and spells and all of the over-complications that go along with them

Waste claims/Trial by Fires

Darkness was like the only mechanic of salem i really liked . Argopelters were pretty retarded tho lol.

Yeah, darkness was awesome, all that was lacking was a proper mechanic for influencing it (I consider churches to be mere placeholders) and tangible benefits from raising light levels.
