I hope that there will be wipes often. Atleast if quality system is similiar to haven. (In year or two world is full of dhelmers going around with 1000 uac and abandoned places everywhere)

Hello. I just heared about this game and new version. If it will be Alpha that mean there will be wipe?

Apha means it's an early version (like haven is for years now) which might lead to a Beta version, Eternal Alpha means it will stay Alpha eternally ...

Wipe means the world (map), chars and everything achieved will be deleted = wiped away = End of the world- so everyone starts in a fresh world with fresh chars owning nothing but shoes and linen pants and shirt ...

The announced Eternal Alpha is for a new version of the game starting with a new world while the old version with World7 will continue running for a while parallel (as there are still 200+ playing it).

While the eventual goal is for a world that won't ever need to be wiped or reset, the game is still at a stage where bad things happen and we need to start anew. Sometimes players cheat and break things so irrevocably that there needs to be a reset, sometimes so many new systems are added that they're simply incompatible with the current version, and sometimes the hardware and the backups manage to melt on the same day. Chances are that until the game is out of Alpha, there will remain a looming prospect that the game will reset every year or so. =)

I find this a terribly sad prospect, and with the quality grind being what it is I can't see how this would be sustainable long term. There reaches a point where there's no point in continuing to grind quality, and a fresh start is needed.

Either that, or we need things to decay whether they're on a claim or not. Or at least to have both city and personal claims automatically decay without having to be 'destroyed'. I know this is how it works for city claims, but personal claims need to join that list. At least we can destroy them now. (Though why it requires a high strength is beyond me)
