How is going to go stale, they've stated that there will be regular updates Ala' Worlds 1-4
They also stated that they would keep regularly updating Haven during the development of Salem...
No, they stated that updates would happen but with far less frequency than they had before. it's apples and oranges anyway since they are "not" working on anything else. thanks for playing though!

I think by "at launch" op means the first day or so.
Probably yes. But that part did not really tickle my interest.
Although I liked Baldarich solution:

Day 2: 700 :o
Day 3: 300-500 :)
Day 4: 420 ¦]
Day 5: 300 :D
O yea. I think he could be more accurate than he might think (general graph line). Time will tell.

You're right, I was forgetting all these wonderful Haven updates we've been getting over the years since 2012, such as... demijohns... and the skull throne...

Not that I'm complaining; jorb and loftar can't see the future, maybe they didn't know Salem would take up so much time. But just like that maybe some other project will pop up and they'll have to stop working on Haven again. It's not an unrealistic possibility, unless they monetize Haven and live off of it... but I can't see that happening just yet.

I might have to revise my estimate, I was going off of the last 2-3 months of board activity but here with still 8 days till launch people are trickling in from....::Somewhere::. Maybe a lot more people than i thought have been waiting for release but not discussing it endlessly like us addicts....

The plan since the re-work of Haven started has been to monetize it, it was discussed quite a bit back when they first started talking about it but less so as time went on. As to "when" they start working on monetizing it that remains to be seen.

No ads, no Steam version.

Unless someone suddenly spreads the word at launch, I estimate no more than 1000 players at launch.
From there it depends on how good the new Haven is.
People will either bring more players into the game or they themselves will leave over time.
If the game still has the same core flaws as the first, which is likely, then let's say 400 players minus the 100 who might return to H&H while it still runs if they are disappointed with H&H 2.

So around 350~430ish if the game hasn't changed much is my guess.
If the game turns out to be a lot like Salem, make it 200-350 players.
And if by any chance it has actually improved in gameplay, then up to 1000 players or even more might even become a steady player number despite the permadeath.

That's my estimate.

Exactly, theres nothing that would bring new players. Those who "are vcoming back for hafen" dont probably remember whole game anymore.

If the point of the thread didn't tickle your interest why are you posting in the thread
