In a game of this nature I'm not sure how many people would pay for cosmetic items you could lose at any moment. I think they could pull it off if the cosmetic microtransactions were simply skins for existing items and they were account bound, so you could never lose them; for example, if you bought a blue cape skin for your ranger capes, then whenever you equipped a ranger cape on any of your characters, it would look blue instead of green.

If I'm not mistaken they once talked about making it so you could only play for X hours a day / X days a month if you were a free player. I think that would be a decent model also, since it wouldn't force them to add flamboyant cosmetic items to the game to make them money (which is what inevitably happens in every game with cosmetic microtransactions.) Plus it would disencourage alts.

i for one would buy tons of paint & dye if it allows me to make custom banners and tabards, different colored clothes, tablecloths, napkins, etc.

As long as they don't sell in-game currency and make it required for virtually everything. Grinding silver in Salem got real old real fast.

Salem itself got old really quick. i can play up a noob character in haven damn near an endless # of times but after the first time getting my character somewhat good in Salem i could never go through that again....

Agreed. I've got no problem with microtransactions for things like that. Though I think every town should get a Tabard design for free as part of the game if they ever did implement something like that. But cosmetic stuff for sure if it allows you to customize more.

I probably wouldn't use the feature unless I found something I really liked. But ESO has Buy to Play as their model and the Item Shop in that game is only for cosmetic stuff and pets. Their model works well. I was paying a sub fee for that game before they stopped it. Games that allow people to purchase things that advance their character are no good, people with money to waste will always be better in those games, which is why I've quit every one that has that kind of mechanic. Or require people to purchase things to get further ahead in the game like those nails for instance. Even if there were things to craft and trade for the ingame money I feel it ruins the balance of a game. Both those things ruin balance.

A Subscription fee would be the easiest to implement imo. Everyone pays the same amount and no one gets a leg up over someone else just because they can throw money at their situation :P.

I doubt that will happen because there is no main town everyone can port to and buy stuff with such currency :) If monetizing the game is their mission, cosmetic items they should sell, including some p2w tools.

Is honey in demijohns patched in yet?

If not then it's cool, we can all wait another week until it's added :)

... whatever.
The link I posted shows ... a lot of stuff. And I did not bother to add anything about what particular part in those video's I was revering to. Nor did I bother to be specific in what I quoted.
yep.
Personally I think you're speculating a lot off of very little information.
Same here. An anvil is not a house.
