Its all a ruse. When everyone is asleep and no one expects it, you will suddenly release Hafen in the dead of the night.jorb wrote:What part of "4-5pm UTC+2" did you guys miss?

Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy

Saying 5pm UTC+2 is weird, why would you not just say 3pm UTC?

That sounds like the most unrewarding grind mechanic to be seen in Haven or Salem thus far. Well, J&L ARE always innovating, I'll give them that.painhertz wrote: Nothing even close to that. You have your answer, but let me break it down further: If you aren't a hardened vet excited about playing what is sure to be a very wild ride (with no company but rando russians) I would come back in about six months.Orocnogu wrote:So, while we wait, I have a few questions based on my half-asleep browsing of this forum. Am I correct to understand, that:
1. Game server for Hafen will be up in 15-20 hours approximately?
2. The link for downloading the game will be shared somewhere here on this forum and/or site homepage?
3. There is no way to start the game conveniently close to a friend, we will have to look for each other later ingame?

5PM UTC+2 is just regular 5PM their time, so I guess it's easier for them to think of it as "5PM here, but here is UTC+2 for people that can't sweden", rather than "3PM in england!"MightySheep wrote:Saying 5pm UTC+2 is weird, why would you not just say 3pm UTC?

From that interview they did a while back it sounded like the whole purpose of the new system was to sidestep the grind. It seemed like the idea was for there to be a ton of factors in the more advanced achievements that are so obtuse that the users will never figure them out, so that there's really no point in them grinding for them, they'll just happen as a surprise eventually as they're playing, or not. So simple things like the log cutting achievement, everyone might get. But for another you might have to catch a specific fish beside a stage four elm tree from the shallows of a lake under a half-full moon with bunny slippers on and thirteen pieces of silver nugget in your inventory at 15-20% hungry. That's the kind of vibe I got from the article. But presumably with more difficult terms for the achievement, so that people don't start laboriously figuring out every single condition they met at the time they got the notification and replicating them, then writing bots to replicate them to create even more super super-alts that no one outside the know can hope to ever replicateahzek wrote:That sounds like the most unrewarding grind mechanic to be seen in Haven or Salem thus far.
