Not exactly.
It's a coding thing. The influx of new players has demonstrated a bug in the code.
You guys have already been useful and found a game breaking bug!
Hey, Jorb and Loftar, does that mean that the guy who introduced all the Russians to the game will get a pink cape?

Re: OMG NEW RECORD!
It's not RAM, it's bandwidth, but the problem is a bit strange, since I have four times as much bandwidth as the server is currently using. Loftar is looking into it.

Re: OMG NEW RECORD!
Is it possible to attach servers to the regions where the majority of players are coming from?
Something like:
Server 1 - Asia
Server 2 - Europe
Server 3 - US
Servers 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 - Russia
I think when the server is totally overloaded this will help much.

Re: OMG NEW RECORD!
I've observed these things about the lag:
- It is localized / gridbased: My friend who lives somewhere east of the main grid reports he barely has any lag at all.
When I helped out some new players today in Novigrad, the lag was annoying, but playable.
However, at my place, somewhere west of the main grid the lag is insane, as I described in my earlier post.
- The lag seems to spike/fluctuate; this morning, and just now, 15 minutes ago, lag spiked way up to a point that I couldn't even walk anymore, and village chat/party chat didn't update for over 5 minutes. I logged out, to find that a lot of players seem to be experiencing the same, as server population dropped to 50-something. I couldn't, and can't seem to connect to the server again, however, the game hasn't crashed and other people seem to be able to reconnect, as population raises again. This morning I could reconnect to the server again after some minutes, I suspect I can log in in a bit if I keep trying.
It has nothing to do with my internet connection.
Also, on a shorter timescale, lag seems to fluctuate as well, being annoying for some minutes, then semi-gone for 30 seconds or so.

And of course you are going to pay for all those russian servers right?Necroanonymous wrote:Is it possible to attach servers to the regions where the majority of players are coming from?

Do you realize the game is an alfa made by 2 students in their proverbial basement?

I mean this would be a good idea to keep in mind in future when the game pays off.Avu wrote:And of course you are going to pay for all those russian servers right?Necroanonymous wrote:Is it possible to attach servers to the regions where the majority of players are coming from?

And have 12 players on each server? Sounds fun!Necroanonymous wrote:Is it possible to attach servers to the regions where the majority of players are coming from?
