Do you not know what EVE Online is and what PLEX is?Bob_the_Cat wrote:Theres nothign pay 2 win about buyign game time. I could paypal someone all I wanted before (not that I did) but it was still very much possible. There will ALWAYS be real world money intwined with the game, if its legal or not. Id rather have the game be able to get updates and Jorb eat than be slightly harder for the guy who was going to bribe me to ram someone.masterofthe wrote:BS wall of text from a scrub with 1 post

I didn't say it was dead, your reading comprehension is lacking.jorb wrote:server wrote:There are 1018 hearthlings playing. It hasn't died yet, at least.Burzan wrote:A dead game.

It's already down from 1400, and that's just the people on the forums before launch. I doubt you'll even have half that many people by next week.
I don't see why you're so intent on killing a great game with a terrible payment system.

It is just 10 buks for 30 days of play time. It means if you are playing 8 hours a day you will be able to play 3 months for 10 buks. 3.33$ per month.

A decent number of them certainly will be.Juuday wrote:How many of those 1000 are free players Jorb? They'll be gone when their 60 free hours are up and they'll see you next month if you're lucky for a fraction of that.
... but more than one will also subscribe, &c&c. The only question on my mind is where the balance is, and I think it's much too early to tell.
I would not at all mind if the game stayed small and stable for a good while while we iron out kinks and make it better, so a big population is certainly no goal in and of itself.
Eventually the game either sinks as a professional project, or it swims. If it sinks then, well, I can live with that.
The game is awesome and needed building, and I will always have it no matter what.
Mission accomplished. Anything else is gravy.

It will sink and you will be unhappy that you arent making money. You will make it free and no one will wanna touch this game because they know the devs are fuckwitsjorb wrote:A decent number of them certainly will be.Juuday wrote:How many of those 1000 are free players Jorb? Bronze subscription 365 days @ $72 is $6 a month. Thats not to bad imo if you have the money and like the game.

The prime issue I'm sure you're aware of is there's going to be no incentive to play as a f2p user, we're never going to even come close to the curve payed users will achieve simply due to how you've built the game. Some few of us with old friends may be lucky enough to get fed and leech their way into endgame stuff but I don't find it likely.
