Because Bugged shit still exists and it's completely fucking up this playtest. There's evidence posted on the forums and I've seen the shit myself. Q175 b12's are not natural without 1k+ farming and NO ONE has that yet.
Q184, Q187 trees from bugged water.
Q252 metal saw.
Q201 hammers.
And theres probably more I don't know about.
You tried once to nerf it but the only people engaged in PvP continue to secretly abuse bugs despite the efforts of the devs and this is the only surefire method to attain an accurate playtest.

Re: Map Reset
if it's a week to a month away I don't mind hanging on. But if we're talking 3-6mo i say do it now.
I don't think WV should be banned from the game but I do think the the first nerf wasn't enough to convince them to playtest and not play. I also think they should have their characters, and ascestors %110 deleted seeing as despite the consequences of their actions the first time around they didn't seem to get the picture. Report bugs and do not abuse them.
Incidentally, like numbers, Flame should be rezzed. Perhaps allthe other people WV has killed using their bugged equipment, and slightly less, bugged stats.

Re: Map Reset
these two things are the most critical aspect in game testing, but there's also a third catch that you didn't mention, which is developer involvement with their testers as a back/forth talk.Chakravanti wrote:playtest and not play... report bugs and do not abuse them
How many players have tried to use items in the wrong places, just to check that the item really won't work? [I'm guilty of not doing this, as i'm sure many others are, because "Hey, it's a free MMO game! Time to play." and not "Oh, they need testers. Lets see if i can break something and report it if it does."] Or for that matter, that J/L told us that "This should work like this, not like that, or like that, or..." and how something should work exactly, so that every single player knows that if something happened contrary to what was expected, that it should be reported.
For example, the Q175 battle axes and Q200-Q250+ tools could've easilly been "spotted" if we knew the exact math at every step of the way for what was required to get a final product that's at that quality level; and then further calculate that "Yes, this is a bugged item, because making it has X requirement and that simply isn't possible to achieve given the time the game has been running." I ran into a Q150 straw hat once, in a basket in the wilderness in a boat. Was that a legal item? I don't know, because i don't know what's needed to make a Q150 straw hat, since i've never made one or seen one made from the raw materials.
Developers tell testers how something works in every detail -> Testers check those things work just as planned -> Testers report errors to developers by actual direct testing, or if they stumble across it by simple indirect gameplay.

Erm I dont know if they actually cause that much damage for playtesting since weve sort of reached a plateau there, waiting on new content and all. Thinking some of the more important tests will take place on the special server set aside for that...
Unless they hand out premades for focused testing, a wipe might just slow things down instead of helping

You're absolutely right that we've more or less reached the plateau of legit development.Jackard wrote:Erm I dont know if they actually cause that much damage for playtesting since weve sort of reached a plateau there, waiting on new content and all. I think everything, except maybe some bugs have been hashed out. but continued secret bug abuse should not be condoned.

I understand that I often come across as an extremely intense person. But trust, my decisions are very rarely emotional. They are certainly not in this case.maltmaker wrote:feelings

Pure bullshit post from you again. @sabinati of course not. Im pretty sure you used piros cooked with q187 branches.
I'd in fact like a mapreset and a char reset, it would show how hard it has become to build civilisation up with all these changes, especially domestication, but chak is overreacting here to the limit. Beside better food, nothing makes a slight difference. Every single baked item you have is bugged by now chak, thanks to the bricks you made with the branches you bought.
Yes, because without these items we would have made 400 and not 450 dmg with a single hitChakravanti wrote: Report bugs and do not abuse them.

I reported the items, all of them. Jorb didnt care about anything else than the water, which got destroyed.
It looks like there wont be any updates for at least a month now, since the combat system is far from done, neither the wyrd system. So if they reset now we can test the stuff they already made and will be able to build something up until they implement new things.Jackard wrote:Unless they hand out premades for focused testing, a wipe might just slow things down instead of helping
